Dylan Walsh is an American actor. He is known for his roles in the films Betsy’s Wedding<\/em>, Arctic Blue<\/em>, Radio Inside<\/em>, Nobody’s Fool<\/em> (1994), Congo<\/em>, Men<\/em>, Final Voyage<\/em>, We Were Soldiers<\/em>, Blood Work<\/em>, Power Play<\/em>, Edmond<\/em>, The Lake House<\/em>, Just Add Water<\/em>, as the title character in The Stepfather<\/em> (2009); Secretariat<\/em>, and Authors Anonymous<\/em>, on the series Gabriel’s Fire<\/em>, Brooklyn South<\/em>, Unforgettable<\/em> (2011), When We Rise<\/em>, Blue Bloods<\/em>, Superman & Lois<\/em>, SEAL Team<\/em>, and Heated Rivalry<\/em>, and in the made-for-tv movies When We Were Young<\/em> and Lost Holiday: The Jim and Suzanne Shemwell Story<\/em>. In his early roles, he was billed as Charles Hunter Walsh, to avoid similarity with another actor.<\/p>\n

His parents worked for the Foreign Service, and met in Ethiopia. During his childhood, his family lived and worked in Kenya, India, Pakistan, and Indonesia, before settling in Virginia when Dylan was ten.<\/p>\n

Dylan is married to Leslie Bourque. He has two children with his former wife, actress Melora Walters; a daughter with his former wife, actress Joanna Going<\/a>; and two children with Leslie.<\/p>\n

Dylan’s paternal grandfather was Blount Earnest Anderson Walsh (the son of Dennis Edmond “Denny” Walsh and Matilda Annie “Tillie” Wilderspin). Blount was born in Grand Saline, Van Zandt, Texas. Dennis was born in New York City, New York, the son of Peter Walsh, who was an Irish immigrant; and of Mary Ann Gaughan, who was born in Bolton, England, and likely was of Irish descent. Dylan’s great-grandmother Matilda was born in Elsworth, Cambridgeshire, England, the daughter of Alfred Wilderspin and Mary Ann Clarke.<\/p>\n

Dylan’s paternal grandmother was Helen Hill (the daughter of Harry A. Hill and Lucy Kirk Maxey). Helen was born in Cleburne, Johnson, Texas, and had deep roots in the U.S. Harry was born in Alabama, the son of James Henderson Hill. Lucy was born in Monroe, Kentucky, the daughter of John Leake Maxey and Frances Walker.<\/p>\n

Dylan’s maternal grandfather was Frank P. Haven (born Frank Nagle, the son of Corp. Frank Casper Nagle and Josephine Jedrzejewska). Dylan’s grandfather Frank was born in Buffalo, Erie, New York, and was adopted by Roland D. Haven and Belle Hopkins. Frank was a managing editor of the Los Angeles Times. Dylan’s great-grandfather Frank was born in Buffalo, the son of ethnic Polish emigrants, from what is now Geramny, Franciskus “Frank” Niegel\/Nagel\/Nygel\/Nagle and Katherine Paprocki. Dylan’s great-grandmother Josephine was born in Erie, and was also the daughter of Polish parents, John Jedrzejewski and Mary Tucholka.<\/p>\n

Dylan’s maternal grandmother was Margaret Louise Brewster (the daughter of Reginald Oswald “Rex” Brewster and Ruth Margaret McIntire). Margaret was born in San Diego, California. Reginald was born in London, England, the son of George Chapman Brewster, who was English; and of Eliza “Lilly” Deverson, who was born in New South Wales, Australia, to English parents. Dylan’s great-grandmother Ruth was born in Missouri, the daughter of John Jackson McIntire and Mary Cornelia Cotton, and had deep roots in the U.S.<\/p>\n
