Rivers Cuomo is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is the lead singer of rock band Weezer, as well as a guitarist, keyboardist, and songwriter for the band.<\/p>\n

Rivers is the son of Beverly Schoenberger and Frank Cuomo, a musician, who was a drummer for jazz saxophonist Wayne Shorter. His maternal grandfather was a minister, and his maternal grandparents were active in the Civil Rights Movement. Rivers was known as Peter Kitts, after his mother re-married to Stephen Kitts.<\/p>\n

Rivers is married to Kyoko Ito, with whom he has two children.<\/p>\n

Rivers’ paternal grandfather was Anthony Cuomo (the son of Francesco Filippo Cuomo and Teresa Maria Regina Salvatore). Anthony was from Abruzzo, Italy.<\/p>\n

Rivers’ paternal grandmother was Denise Ann Tomasso (the daughter of Gineste Tomasso and Josephine Volante). Denise was from Lazio, Italy.<\/p>\n

Rivers’ maternal grandfather was The Rev. Frederick Louis “Fred” Shoenberger (the son of Frederick Louis Shoenberger and Helen E. Turner). Rivers’ grandfather The Rev. Frederick was born in Ohio. Rivers’ great-grandfather Frederick was the son of George Shoenberger and Mary. Helen was the daughter of Albert A. Turner and Alice Robinson.<\/p>\n

Rivers’ maternal grandmother was named Lois Pauline “Polly” Sims (the daughter of Earnest Sims).<\/p>\n
