Aimee Mann is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She co-founded new wave band ‘Til Tuesday. She wrote the band’s top-ten single “Voices Carry.” Her solo songs include “Save Me” and her cover of “Avalanche.”<\/p>\n

Her father was a marketing executive. When she was a young child, she was kidnapped by her mother, and her mother’s new boyfriend, and taken to Europe; and was later brought back to the U.S. She was raised in Bon Air, Virginia. Aimee is married to singer, songwriter, and composer Michael Penn. Michael is the brother of actors Sean Penn<\/a> and Chris Penn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Aimee’s paternal grandfather was Francis William Mann (the son of Benjamin Evan Mann and Clara Killian). Francis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Benjamin was born in Philadelphia, the son of James M. Mann and Mary Williams Derr. Clara was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Franz “Francis”\/Frank Killian, who was German, from Baden; and of Louisa Hoscher.<\/p>\n

Aimee’s paternal grandmother was Ruth Wilson White (the daughter of Theodore Wesley White and Virginia Lee Wilson). Ruth was born in Maryland. Theodore was the son of William S. White and Mariah Ann Evans. Virginia was born in Maryland, the daughter of The Rev. James Massey Wilson and Margaret Elizabeth Wallace.<\/p>\n

Aimee’s maternal grandfather was Archie Earl Parks (the son of Selah A. “Seeley” Parks and Hattie Louise Crandall). Archie was born in Canisteo, New York, and had deep roots in the U.S. Selah was the son of William H. Parks and Ardelia Mary Davidson. Hattie was the daughter of Anna C. Ormsby.<\/p>\n

Aimee’s maternal grandmother was Elma Irene Elliott (the daughter of Lewis H. Elliott and Belle M. Schofield). Elma was born in Pennsylvania, and had deep American roots. Lewis was the son of Henry E. Elliott and Nancy M. Stage. Belle was the daughter of Herman Warren Schofield and Jennie Bostic.<\/p>\n
