Larry Elder is an American conservative talk radio host, political commentator, author, politician, and attorney. He has hosted The Larry Elder Show<\/em> on radio since the 1990s, which has been broadcast nationally, with a few gap years. He has written non-fiction books and a nationally syndicated column.<\/p>\n

He was a candidate for the Republican Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Larry is the son of Viola (Conley), a clerical worker for the U.S. Department of War, and Randolph Elder, a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. His father later worked as a janitor and opened a caf\u00e9. His father was from Athens, Georgia. His mother was from Toney, Alabama. Larry was raised in Los Angeles’ Pico-Union and South Central areas. He and his brother Kirk accepted a Congressional Gold Medal on their father’s behalf in 2013.<\/p>\n

Larry’s paternal grandfather was named William\/Willie S. Elder (the son of Mose Elder and Winnie). William was born in Georgia.<\/p>\n

Larry’s paternal grandmother was named Connie. Connie was born in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Larry’s maternal grandfather was Pascal Conley, Jr. (the son of Pascal Conley, Sr. and Malinda Powers). Larry’s grandfather Pascal was born in Alabama. Larry’s great-grandfather Pascal was the son of William Connally and Francis Sullivan.<\/p>\n

Larry’s maternal grandmother was Sue Berta\/Suebirta Stewart (the daughter of Benjamin Stewart and Katherine “Kitty” Jones). Sue was born in Alabama. Benjamin was the son of Allen Stewart and Harriet Smith.<\/p>\n
