He was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, to American parents, and was raised in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia.<\/p>\n

Derrick’s paternal grandfather was Donald Harding Borte (the son of Robert Eymard Borte and Marion Armstrong Harding). Donald was born in New York. Robert was born in New York, the son of Charles Borte\/Bort and Mary Cauley. Marion was born in Virginia, the daughter of Lewis William Harding and Lillian F. “Lilly” Garrison.<\/p>\n

Derrick’s paternal grandmother was Marian Leigh Perry (the daughter of Walter Kilby\/Kelly Perry and Leigh\/Lee Belle Felton). Marian was born in North Carolina. Walter was born in North Carolina, the son of Otey Kilby Perry and Addie Victoria Powell. Leigh was born in North Carolina, the daughter of Henry Norfleet Felton and Suzannah Myrtle Parker.<\/p>\n

Derrick’s maternal grandfather was Paul Raymond Raskin (the son of Hyman\/Herman Raskin and Annie Rudnick). Paul was born in New Jersey, to Russian Jewish parents.<\/p>\n

Derrick’s maternal grandmother was Beverly Turock (the daughter of Alex Turock and Ethel Leibowitz). Beverly was born in Virginia, to a Russian Jewish father and a Romanian Jewish mother.<\/p>\n
