John Elway is an American professional football player and manager. A quarterback, he played his entire career with the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He was also general manager\/executive VP of football operations, president of football operations, and consultant, for the Denver Broncos, and co-owner\/CEO of Colorado Crush. He is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He was voted Super Bowl MVP<\/a> for Super Bowl XXXIII (1999).<\/p>\n

John is the son of Jan (Jordan) and John Albert “Jack” Elway, a football player and coach. He is married to Paige Green, who was an Oakland Raiders cheerleader. He has four children with his former wife Janet Buchan. One of them, John Albert “Jack” Elway III, played college football.<\/p>\n

John’s paternal grandfather was Harry Stuart Elway, Sr. (the son of Lemuel Elway and Mary Sue\/Susan Snyder). Harry was born in Pennsylvania. Lemuel was the son of The Rev. James Elway and Sarah Prosser. Mary Sue was the daughter of George M. Snyder and Sarah Moran.<\/p>\n

John’s paternal grandmother was Alice Electia Smith (the daughter of Henry S. Smith and Agatha Van Tassel). Alice was born in Massachusetts. Agatha was the daughter of parents from Nova Scotia, Canada, Isaiah Van Tassel, who was from South Range, Digby County, and Deliah Weaver.<\/p>\n

John’s maternal grandfather was Harry J. Jordan (the son of Henry Charles\/J.\/V. Jordan and Nellie L. Larson). John’s grandfather Harry was born in Washington. John’s great-grandfather Henry was Canadian, the son of Joe C. Jordan and Maggie Bosquet. Nellie was the daughter of Lewis\/Louis Larson, who was of Norwegian origin, and of Olene\/Olina\/Lena Olson\/Oleson, who was Norwegian.<\/p>\n

John’s maternal grandmother was Marie E. Gifford (the daughter of Marvin\/Mervin Willis\/U. Gifford and Cora May Reck). Marie was born in Washington. Marvin was born in Wisconsin, and was the son of Aaron Monroe Gifford and Emerancy O. Sherman\/Shermand. Cora was the daughter of Silas Andrew Reck and Mary Jane Redding.<\/p>\n
