Malena Ernman is a Swedish mezzo-soprano opera singer. She has performed operas, operettas, chansons, cabaret, and jazz. She is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, and has appeared in musicals.<\/p>\n

Malena is the daughter of Eva H\u00e9l\u00e9ne (Norberg) and Lars Ernman. Eva was adopted by Ebbe Arvid Ragnvald Arvidsson and Lilly Alfhild Elisabet Pettersson. Malena is married to author, arts manager, producer, and actor Svante Thunberg<\/a>, with whom she has two daughters, the older of whom is environmental activist Greta Thunberg<\/a>. Her father-in-law was actor and director Olof Thunberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Malena’s patrilineal line can be traced back to her fourth great-grandfather, Mattes W\u00e4gblom.<\/p>\n

Malena’s paternal grandfather was Karl Ragnar Ernman (the son of Karl August Andersson and Johanna Margareta Westin). Malena’s grandfather Karl was born in N\u00e4tra, V\u00e4sternorrland. Malena’s great-grandfather Karl was the son of Anders Andersson and Clara Maria \u00c5kervall. Johanna was the daughter of Hans Samuelsson Westin and Katarina Margareta Ramstedt.<\/p>\n

Malena’s paternal grandmother was Greta Gurli Fresk (the daughter of Albert Fresk and Gurli Charlotta Johanna S\u00f6derstr\u00f6m). Malena’s grandmother Greta was born in Svenarum, J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping. Albert was the son of Frans T\u00f6rner Fresk and Evelina Albertina Westman. Malena’s great-grandmother Gurli was the daughter of Frans Verner S\u00f6derstr\u00f6m and Emma Charlotta Karolina Becklin.<\/p>\n

Malena’s maternal grandfather was Tage Nils Erik Norberg (the son of Nils Knut Severin Norberg and Selma Nikolina Johansson). Tage was born in Jukkasj\u00e4rvi, Norrbotten. Malena’s great-grandfather Nils was the son of Jonas Andersson Norberg and Sara Magdalena Sundholm. Selma was the daughter of Johan Pettersson and Anna Brita Svensdotter.<\/p>\n

Malena’s maternal grandmother was Ren\u00e9e Monica Ursell (the daughter of Georg Olof Gunnar Ursell and Ren\u00e9e Louise Bj\u00f6rling). Monica was born in Skeppsholm, Stockholm. Gunnar was the son of Carl Viktor Mathias Ursell and Christina Maria Teresia Busck. Malena’s great-grandmother Ren\u00e9e was the daughter of Karl-Olof Bj\u00f6rling and Hedvig Amanda Lindroth.<\/p>\n

Malena’s matrilineal line can be traced back to her fifth great-grandmother, Eva Jonsdotter.<\/p>\n
