She is known for her roles on the show Modern Family<\/em>, and in the films Chasing Papi<\/em>, Madea Goes to Jail<\/em>, Machete Kills<\/em>, and Chef<\/em>, and is famous for her curves and lips.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda is the daughter of Margarita Sof\u00eda Vergara D\u00e1vila and Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo. She is now also an American citizen. She has a son, internet personality Manolo Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a>, with her former husband, Jos\u00e9 Luis “Joe” Gonz\u00e1lez Rosales.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda’s biological cousin, and adoptive sister, is actress and model Sandra Vergara<\/a>. Sof\u00eda is also a paternal second cousin, once removed, of television host Ariadna Guti\u00e9rrez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda’s paternal grandfather was Julio Enrique Vergara Ordosgoitia (the son of Rafael “Coco de Oro” Vergara Vergara and Isabel Ordosgoitia de Vivero). Rafael was the son of Jos\u00e9 Blas Vergara de la Ossa and Cenobia Vergara.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda’s paternal grandmother was named Esther Robayo G\u00f3mez (the daughter of a father surnamed Robayo, and of Pepita G\u00f3mez T\u00e1mara). Pepita was the daughter of Andr\u00e9s G\u00f3mez Patr\u00f3n and Adolfina T\u00e1mara L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda’s maternal grandfather was Hernando Vergara Galvis (the son of Alfredo M\u00e1ximo Vergara Forno and Ana Mar\u00eda Victoria Galvis Matamoros). Hernando was born in Barranquilla, Atl\u00e1ntico, Colombia. Alfredo was the son of Jorge Vergara P\u00e1rraga and Mercedes Forno Le\u00f3n. Mercedes was of Italian or part Italian descent. Ana Mar\u00eda was the daughter of Jos\u00e9 Benedicto\/Benedict Galvis and Victoria Matamoros.<\/p>\n

Sof\u00eda’s maternal grandmother was Rosa Lila D\u00e1vila Barreneche (the daughter of Pedro Manuel Agust\u00edn D\u00e1vila Balti and Rosa Lila Barreneche Olaciregui). Pedro’s father, General Juan Manuel D\u00e1vila Pumarejo, was from a prominent family, and was instrumental in the building of the Northern Railroad of Colombia. His brother was industrialist Jos\u00e9 Domingo D\u00e1vila Pumarejo. His father was born in Jamaica, to Colombian parents. Pedro’s mother was Venezuelan emigrant, Maria del Carmen Auristela Balti, of Maracaibo. The surname Balti is of Italian origin. Sof\u00eda’s great-grandmother Rosa was the daughter of Camilo Ernesto Mario Barreneche D\u00edaz Granados and Mar\u00eda del Rosario Olaciregui y Capella.<\/p>\n

Through her mother, Sof\u00eda is a half-second cousin, once removed, of French model and fashion designer In\u00e8s de La Fressange<\/a>. Sof\u00eda’s maternal great-great-grandfather, General Juan Manuel D\u00e1vila Pumarejo, was also In\u00e8s’ maternal great-grandfather. Sof\u00eda is also a third cousin, twice removed, of Colombian president Alfonso Lopez Michelsen<\/a>. Sofia’s maternal great-great-great-great-grandparents, Jos\u00e9 Domingo Pumarejo Daza and Cir\u00edaca\/Siriaca Quir\u00f3s Daza, were also Alfonso’s paternal great-great-grandparents.<\/p>\n
