Corey Taylor is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and author. He is the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Slipknot and lead vocalist, guitarist, lyricist, and sole continuous member of rock band Stone Sour. Paul Gray<\/a> was also a member of Slipknot. He was also a member of supergroup Sound City Players, with Dave Grohl<\/a>, Taylor Hawkins<\/a>, Rami Jaffee<\/a>, Paul McCartney<\/a>, Stevie Nicks<\/a>, Krist Novoselic<\/a>, Pat Smear<\/a>, Rick Springfield<\/a>, and Brad Wilk<\/a>. He is also known as #8, Great Big Mouth, Todd Tigger, The Boogie Knight, and Neck.<\/p>\n

Corey is married to Alicia Dove, creator of dance and performance group “Cherry Bombs.” He has three children, including a son with his former wife Scarlett Stone; and a daughter with his former wife Stephanie Luby.<\/p>\n

Corey has said<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I’m half-German, half-Irish. My mother’s family is mostly Irish with a touch of Dutch. My father is mostly German with a touch of native American. It’s a weird amalgam… Overall, I’m half-German and half-Irish which is where I get my temper from. Growing up, I didn’t have a lot to relate to because my family life was fairly messy. I didn’t know my father until I was about 30… Being half-Irish, I kind of look at it and think, ‘why can’t we play Ireland more’.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Corey’s paternal grandmother is Thelma Marie Horn (the daughter of Frank Arthur Horn and Martha Elizabeth Trimm). Thelma was born in Iowa. Frank was born in Rolla, Missouri, the son of John Horn and Mary Elizabeth Werner, and all of his grandparents were German immigrants. Martha was born in Victor, Iowa, to German immigrants, Ernest Trimm and Emma Meyer.<\/p>\n
