Ty Dolla Sign, also written Ty Dolla $ign, Ty$, or Dolla Sign, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He has been a member of hip-hop supergroup TGOD Mafia, with Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and TM88; duo MihTy, with Jeremih; and hip hop superduo ¥$, with Kanye West.

He is the son of Phyllis and musician Tyrone Griffin, a member of funk band Lakeside, and grew up in South Central Los Angeles. Ty has a daughter. He is a Muslim.

Ty’s maternal grandfather is named Eustace Moore.

Ty’s maternal grandmother is Doris Roby (the daughter of Milton Roby/Robie and Etta Lee Wilson). Doris was born in Tennessee. Milton was the son of George Roby and Rosie, and was a member of the Memphis Jug Band, a musical group active from the 1920s to the 1950s, featuring harmonica, kazoo, fiddle, and mandolin or banjolin. Etta was the daughter of Owen Wilson and Rosetta Lanier.
