She is the daughter of film director Luc Besson and producer Virginie Besson-Silla. Her paternal half-sister is actress and photographer Shanna Besson. Her aunt, mother’s sister, is actress and filmmaker Karine Silla, and her uncle is actor Vincent Pérez, who is Karine’s husband.

Her paternal grandparents were Club Med scuba-diving instructors.

Thalia’s paternal grandfather was Claude Besson (the son of Paul Besson and Lucienne Joséphine Louise Besson).
