Sky Blu, also known as SkyBlu and 8ky 6lu, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, DJ, and dancer. He is one half of electronic dance music duo LMFAO, known for their song “Party Rock Anthem,” with his half-uncle, Redfoo. Both Sky Blu and Redfoo are biracial, as their fathers are black and their mothers are white; Sky Blu, and Redfoo’s father, are half-brothers.

Sky Blu is the son of Berry Gordy IV and Valerie Robeson. He is the brother of singer and actress Mahogany Lox. Sky Blu is a first cousin of actor and musician Jermaine Jackson II, and a second cousin of actress Bianca Lawson, through their ancestors Berry Gordy and Bertha Fuller. Among his paternal half-uncles and/or aunts are career music executive Kerry Gordy, singer Rockwell, and musician and actress Rhonda Ross Kendrick.

Sky Blu’s paternal grandfather is Motown producer Berry Gordy III (the son of Berry Gordy, Jr. and Bertha Fuller). Sky Blu’s grandfather Berry was born in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, to parents from Georgia. Sky Blu’s great-grandfather Berry was born in Oconee, Washington County, the son of Berry Gordy and Lucy Hellum. Bertha was born in Milledgeville, Baldwin County.

Sky Blu’s paternal grandmother was named Thelma Louise Coleman. Thelma was born in Texas, and was African-American.

Sky Blu’s maternal grandfather was Vincent Gerald Robeson (the son of Vincent David Robeson and Margaret M. Finley). Mahogany’s great-grandfather Vincent was the son of Henry John Robeson/Robertson and Mary/Marie Theresa Fordon.

Sky Blu’s maternal grandmother is Waltraud Brunsch (the daughter of Willy Bruno Brunsch and Elfriede Schmidt). Waltraud was born in Germany, to ethnic German parents, from Silesia, Poland.

Sky Blu is a half-second cousin, twice removed, of President Jimmy Carter. Sky Blu is descended from President Carter’s (white) great-grandfather, James Thomas Gordy, from his relationship with a black woman, Esther Johnson. President Carter was descended from James’s white wife, Harriet Emily Helms. President Carter and Sky Blu’s grandfather, music producer Berry Gordy, were half-second cousins.
