Scott Moe is a Canadian politician. He has been Premier of Saskatchewan, since February 2, 2018, and Leader of the Saskatchewan Party, from January 27, 2018. He was previously, in SK, Minister of Environment, from June 5, 2014 to May 21, 2015, and again, from August 23, 2016 to August 30, 2017; and Minister of Advanced Education, from May 21, 2015 to August 23, 2016.

Scott was raised on a farm near Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. He is married to Krista, with whom he has two children.

Scott’s paternal grandfather was Albert William Moe (the son of Anders/Andrew Anderson/Moe and Kirstine/Kjestine Arnesdatter). Albert was born in Langham, Saskatchewan, to Norwegian parents. Anders was born in Nes, Akershus, the son of Anders Sørensen and Anne Oline Gulbrandsdatter. Kirstine was born in Grue, Hedmark, the daughter of Arne Arnesen and Berthe Marie Pedersen.

Scott’s paternal grandmother was Joan Mae Tang (the daughter of John Johannes Tang and Bertha Mathea Thompson). Joan was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. John was born in Hafslo, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, the son of Johannes Paulsen Tang and Unni Oldsdatter Moe. Bertha was born in Ruthven, Palo Alto, Iowa, the daughter of Norwegian parents, John Hovda Thompson/Thoreson, from Uvdal, Buskrd, and Margitt Larson, from Furness, Hodemarken.

Scott’s maternal grandfather was Gordon Edward Victor Sterling (the son of William Edward “Ned” Sterling and Eveline “Eva”/Eve Moore). Gordon was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. William was born in Bruce Mills, Algoma, Ontario, the son of Robert Sterling, whose father was born in County Antrim, Ireland; and of Elizabeth/Bessie Cummings, who was born in England. Eveline was born in Wiltshire, England, the daughter of Thomas Moore and Elizabeth Augusta Shuttler.

Scott’s maternal grandmother was Dorothy Morilda Goudal (the daughter of Marcel Leon Goudal and Hazel Orlan/Rene Horan). Dorothy was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. Marcel was French, born in Louvigné-du-Désert, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, the son of Pierre/Peter Goudal and Mathilda/Tillie Guillouix.
