Sasami’s paternal grandfather was Frank Ashworth (the son of Arthur Ashworth and Maude Harrison). Frank was born in Flint, Michigan, to English parents. Arthur was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, the son of Ephraim Ashworth and Mary Redfern. Maude was born in Widnes, Lancashire, the daughter of Frederick Harrison and Agnes Wolstencroft.

Sasami’s paternal grandmother was Irma Ender (the daughter of Emanuel Ender and Martha Auguste Buchholz). Irma was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Emanuel was born in Germany. Martha was born in Milwaukee, the daughter of August J Buchholz and Augusta Nuss, who were ethnic German emigrants from Posen/Poznań, now Poland.
