Saint Levant (سانت ليفانت) is a Palestinian singer, songwriter, and rapper, based in Los Angeles. He is known for his song “Very Few Friends.” He sings in Arabic, French, and English, all of which he spoke growing up.

Saint Levant was born in Jerusalem, the son of Maria Mohammedi and Rashid Abedlhamid. His parents were raised in Algeria. His father worked as an architect, hotel entrepreneur, DJ, and film producer. His mother worked for UNRWA in the Near East. Saint Levant is a Muslim.

Saint Levant grew up partly in the Gaza Strip, with his paternal grandparents. His parents built a beachfront hotel there, the Al Deira Hotel, which was later destroyed in the 2023 Gaza War. Saint Levant attended the American International School, before relocating to Amman, Jordan, with his family, after the 2007 Battle of Gaza. In 2018, he moved to the U.S. to study at the University of California in Santa Barbara.

Saint Levant’s paternal grandfather is from Safad/Safed, now Israel. He was expelled as a child in 1948 after the Palestine war. He later studied in Yugoslavia, where he met Saint Levant’s paternal grandmother, a Serbian doctor.

Saint Levant’s maternal grandfather was Algerian.

Saint Levant’s maternal grandmother was a French pianist and music teacher, at the French international school of Algiers, Algeria.
