Rossy de Palma is a Spanish actress and model. She is known for her work with Pedro Almodóvar. Her roles include the films Law of Desire, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Kika, Prêt-à-Porter/Ready to Wear, Chicken Park, The Flower of My Secret, The Blue Collar Worker and the Hairdresser in a Whirl of Sex and Politics, Spanish Fly, Talk of Angels, The Loss of Sexual Innocence, Girlfriends (2006), Do Not Disturb, Graziella, Incidencias, Julieta (2016), Madame (2017), Toc Toc, Brillantissime, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, A Mermaid in Paris, Parallel Mothers, and Carmen (2023); and the series Los ladrones van a la oficina, Caterina e le sue figlie, Anclados, Little Birds, and Once Upon a Time… Happily Never After.
Rossy was born in Palma de Mallorca, the daughter of Carmen Echave and Pedro García, a bricklayer. Her father is from Asturias, and also has a Cuban ancestor. Her mother was born in Olite, Navarra, and is of mostly Asturian, and more distant Basque, descent. Both her parents have roots in Avilés, Asturias. Rossy moved to Madrid during the Movida cultural movement. She has two children.
She has stated:
I’m quite mixed. My nose embodies the Basque part of my DNA. My parents are from Asturias and there is Celtic blood in my family.

The remark about Celtic blood is funny and sad at the same time, Asturian and Galician nationalism have done unsalvageable damage to the Spanish society, they actually managed to delude their population into thinking they’re the only ones with Celtic blood in Iberia, when in reality most people all across Spain and Portugal have so called Celtic haplogroups (branches of R1b), oh well…
