Ronny Chieng is a Chinese-Malaysian-American comedian and actor. He is known for featuring on television’s Legally Brown, The Daily Show, Ronny Chieng: International Student, Scissor Seven, Young Rock, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., Interior Chinatown, and King of the Hill, and in the films Crazy Rich Asians, Bliss, Long Story Short, Trust (2021), Godzilla vs. Kong, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, M3GAN, Shortcomings, Joy Ride (2023), Vacation Friends 2, and Unfrosted, and, in voice performance, Wish Dragon, Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow, and Kung Fu Panda 4.
He was born in Johor Bahru, to a Chinese-Malaysian family. He was raised in the city, as well as Singapore, and Manchester, New Hampshire, U.S., the latter for five years. He was a Singapore Sea Scout. Ronny lived in Australia in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He moved to New York in 2015. He is married to attorney Hannah Pham. Ronny became a U.S. citizen in 2025.
