Rob Jetten is a Dutch politican. He has been Prime Minister of the Netherlands, since 23 February, 2026; and Leader of the Democrats 66, since 12 August, 2023. He has also been President of the Young Democrats, from October 2008 to October 2009, Leader of the Democrats 66 in the House of Representatives, from 9 October, 2018 to 28 September, 2021, and again, from 6 December, 2023 to 23 February, 2026; Minister for Climate and Energy Policy, from 10 January, 2022 to 2 July, 2024; Acting Minister of Finance, from 8 January, 2024 to 12 January, 2024; and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, from 8 January, 2024 to 2 July, 2024; as well as, a Member of the House of Representatives, from 23 March, 2017 to 10 January, 2022, and again, since 6 December, 2023. He is the first openly gay head of government in the Netherlands.

He was raised in Uden.

Rob’s paternal grandfather was Arnold Jetten (the son of Antonius Petrus Martinus Jetten and Christina Mathea Sweijen). Arnold was born in Uden, Maashorst, Noord-Brabant. Antonius was born in Bergen, Limburg, the son of Gerardus/Gerard Hubertus/Hubert Jetten and Anna Maria Linders. Christina was born in Bergen, the daughter of Ludovicus Sweijen and Christina Regina Juriens.

Rob’s paternal grandmother was Antonia “Tonny” van Dijk (the daughter of Antoon van Dijk and Egidia Fransen). Antonia was born in Helmond, Helmond, Noord-Brabant.

Rob’s maternal grandfather was surnamed de Goeij.
