Rickey Henderson was an American professional baseball player. A left fielder, he played for the Oakland Athletics, the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays, the San Diego Padres, the Anaheim Angels, the New York Mets, the Seattle Mariners, the Boston Red Sox, and the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He coached the New York Mets. He was a Hall of Famer who has the most stolen bases in the league, with 1,406. He was nicknamed “the Man of Steal.”
Rickey was the son of Bobbie and John Henley. He was named after singer and actor Ricky Nelson. His family moved to Oakland, California, during his early years, and he also lived with his grandmother in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After his father died, his mother married Paul Henderson; he added his surname. Rickey was married to Pamela, until his death, with whom he had three children.
He could steal some bases… also he has hit the most lead off home runs too.
