Peter Safran is an American-British film producer, studio executive, and talent manager. He is the founder of The Safran Company, through which he produced the films Aquaman (2018), Shazam! (2019), and The Suicide Squad (2021). He is the co-chairperson and co-CEO of DC Studios.

Peter is the son of Ordell and Henry Safran. His great-great-grandfather, Henry Wolff, was the founder of Congregation Beth Mordecai, a synagogue in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Peter was raised in the U.K. from an early age, for his father’s job. He is married to Polish actress Natalia (Jaroszyk) Safran, with whom he has a daughter, actress Lou Lou Safran, who has appeared in his films.

Peter’s paternal grandfather was Ira Wolff Safran (the son of Charles/Karlis Safran and Rachel Wolff). Ira was born in South Amboy, New Jersey. Charles was a Hungarian Jewish immigrant. Rachel was born in South Amboy, to Jewish emigrant parents, Henry Wolff, from East Prussia, and Minnie/Mina Kaufman, who was born in Baden, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Peter’s paternal grandmother was Phyllis Shankman (the daughter of Samuel B. Shankman and Beatrice Elkin). Phyllis was born in Trenton, New Jersey. Samuel was a Russian Jewish immigrant. Beatrice was born in New York.

Peter’s maternal grandfather was Frank J. Margolin (the son of Henry Margolin and Goldie/Golde Chaya Berman). Frank was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Russian Jewish parents. Goldie was the daughter of Joseph Berman and Petrushka.

Peter’s maternal grandmother was Fae Adeline Reider (the daughter of Ben Reider and Edith Rouner). Fae was born in Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa, to a Russian Jewish father and a Polish Jewish mother.
