Paula Shaw was an American actress. She played Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees, in Freddy vs. Jason. Her roles also included the films The Centerfold Girls, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Insomnia (2002), the made-for-tv movies Chupacabra: Dark Seas, Destination Wedding, Coming Home for Christmas, Picture a Perfect Christmas, Five Star Christmas, It Was Always You, Debbie Macomber’s A Mrs. Miracle Christmas, Hanukkah on Rye, and Round and Round, and the shows The Bob Newhart Show, Mr. Young, and Cedar Cove.

Paula was raised in the Bronx, the daughter of Betty and Abe Sholachman. Her parents were Polish Jewish immigrants. She lived and worked in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for the last several decades of her life.

Paula’s maternal grandfather was named David Holtz.
