Paul Skenes is an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, he plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Paul is the son of Karen, a high school teacher, and Craig Skenes, a pharmaceuticals company employee. He was partly raised in Lake Forest, California.

Paul’s paternal grandfather was John Donald Skenes (the son of David S. Skenes and Mamie Ruth Partin). John was born in Norfolk, City of Norfolk, Virginia. David was born in North Carolina, the son of Robert Donald Skenes and Dora George Hurley.
