Melissa McBride is an American actress and casting director. She is known for playing Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead universe. Her roles also include the series In the Heat of the Night, A Season in Purgatory, Walker, Texas Ranger; and Dawson’s Creek, and the films The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, The Mist (2007), Delgo, The Reconstruction of William Zero, and The Happys.

Melissa’s paternal grandfather was Leslie Milton McBride (the son of Joseph Milton McBride and Lucy Ann Brown). Leslie was born in Van Buren, Arkansas, and had deep lines in the U.S. Joseph was the son of Isaac Newton McBride and Elizabeth A. Kitchen. Lucy was the daughter of Daniel Sanders Brown and Sarah Jane Stewart.

Melissa’s paternal grandmother was Ann Ruth Campbell (the daughter of Thomas Pollan Campbell and Margaret Scott). Ann was born in Arkansas. Thomas was a Scottish immigrant, the son of Alexander Daniel Campbell and Margaret Millar, who were from Kincardineshire. Melissa’s great-grandmother Margaret was the daughter of John Scott, who was born in Ireland; and of Mary Young, who was Scottish.
