Mark Pellington is an American film director, writer, and producer. He has directed the films Going All the Way, Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies, Henry Poole Is Here, I Melt with You, The Last Word (2017), and Nostalgia (2018), and co-directed the film U2 3D. He has also directed episodes of the shows Cold Case, Blindspot, and Star Trek: Short Treks, the Quibi show Survive, the short film Destination Anywhere, and dozens of music videos.

He is the son of Milica and professional football player Bill Pellington (William A. Pellington). His father was from Paterson, New Jersey, and was a linebacker, who was signed to the Cleveland Browns, and then played twelve seasons for the Baltimore Colts, of the National Football League (NFL). His mother was born in Missouri, and was of Serbian descent.

Mark’s paternal grandfather was William Pellington (the son of Alfred Pellington and Clara Buckley). William was born in New Jersey. Alfred was born in New Jersey, the son of James Pellington, whose father was English, and of Adelia Sarah Rude/Rhude. Clara was born in New Jersey, to parents from either England or Wales, Edward Buckley and Sarah.

Mark’s paternal grandmother was named Sadie. Sadie was born in New Jersey.

Mark’s maternal grandfather was named Milo T. “Mile” Vukovich/Vukovic. Mile was born in Yugoslavia, and was an ethnic Serbian.

Mark’s maternal grandmother was named Ruza “Rose” Nogulich. Rose was born in Yugoslavia, and was an ethnic Serbian.
