Lydia Hearst is an American fashion model, actress, and lifestyle blogger.

She is the daughter of Patty Hearst (Patricia Campbell Hearst) and Bernard Lee Shaw. She has a sister, Gillian. Lydia is a maternal great-granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, a billionaire newspaper publisher and Democratic Party politician, who was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York, from March 4, 1903 to March 4, 1907.

Lydia is married to comedian, actor, and host Chris Hardwick.

Lydia’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Lee Shaw (the son of Samuel Joseph Shaw and Marie Josephine McTigue). Thomas was born in Lakemont, Pennsylvania. Samuel was the son of John Wesley Shaw, whose paternal grandfather was an emigrant from Boardmills, County Down, Norther Ireland; and of Julia McIntyre, who had deeper American roots. Lydia’s great-grandmother Marie Josephine was the daughter of Patrick McTigue, who was an Irish immigrant; and of Alice, possibly also McTigue, who was born in Liverpool, England, and was of Irish descent.

Lydia’s paternal grandmother was Marie Elizabeth Doherty (the daughter of Edward H. Doherty and Bridget Doherty). Marie was born in San Francisco, California, to parents from Carndonagh, County Donegal, Northern Ireland. Edward was the son of Owen Doherty and Elizabeth Kearney. Bridget was the daughter of Bernard Doherty and Ellen Bresland.

Lydia’s maternal grandfather was Randolph Apperson Hearst (the son of William Randolph Hearst and Millicent Veronica Willson). Rudolph was born in New York. William was the son of George Hearst, a mining engineer, businessperson, and Democratic politician, who was a U.S. Senator from California, from March 23, 1886 to August 4, 1886, and again, from March 4, 1887 to February 28, 1891; and of Phoebe Elizabeth Apperson, a philanthropist, feminist, and suffragist. Millicent was the daughter of George H. Willson and Hannah Elizabeth Murray.

Lydia’s maternal grandmother was Catherine Wood Campbell (the daughter of Morton Reck/Peck Campbell and Lillian Wood). Catherine was born in Kentucky. Morton was the son of John Owen Campbell and Kate/Catherine Spiller Findlay, and had deep roots in the U.S. Lillian was the daughter of Charles B. Wood and Katherine M. Holloran, who herself was the daughter of Irish immigrants.
