Leslie Caron is a French and American actress and dancer. She is the recipient of a Golden Globe Award, two BAFTA Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards. Leslie is the daughter of Margaret (Petit), a Franco-American dancer on Broadway, and Claude Caron, a French chemist, pharmacist, perfumer, and boutique owner. Her father founded artisanal perfumier Guermantes. She has two children, television producer Christopher Hall and actress, singer, songwriter, and journalist Jennifer Caron Hall, with her former husband, English theatre director Peter Hall. Leslie became a U.S. citizen c. the late 2000s.
Leslie’s paternal great-grandfather was Ernest Caron (Ernest Adolphe Caron). Ernest was a lawyer and politician, who was President of the Municipal Council of Paris and a councillor of the 2nd arrondissement (Vivienne) district of Paris, on the Municipal Council of Paris, in the Third Republic.
Leslie’s maternal great-grandfather was Armand Savalle. Armand was a global still maker.
