Jayne Brook is an American actress. Her roles include the shows WIOU, The Old Boy Network, Sirens, L.A. Law, In the Best of Families, Chicago Hope, Sports Night, The District, Imagine That, John Doe, Everwood, Boston Legal, Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, Off the Map, Major Crimes, and Star Trek: Discovery; the made-for-tv movies Doing Time on Maple Drive, The Four Diamonds, and Searching for David’s Heart; and the films Kindergarten Cop, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Clean Slate (1994), Bye Bye Love, Ed, Last Dance (1996), Gattaca, Into My Heart, and The Sweet Life.

She is married to actor, film and television director, and screenwriter John Terlesky, with whom she has two children.

Jayne’s paternal grandmother was Johanna Helen Larsen (the daughter of Gunnerius Larsen and Hannah M. Kaspersen). Johanna was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Norwegian parents. Gunnerius was from Trøgstad, Østfold. Hannah was from Kristiania.

Jayne’s maternal grandfather was Donald Mitchell Joyce (the son of Michael Jerome Joyce and Mary Mitchell). Donald was born in North Tonawanda, Niagara, New York. Michael was the son of Irish immigrants, Michael Joyce and Mary Sweeney. Mary was also the daughter of Irish immigrants.

Jayne’s maternal grandmother was Ruth Papke (the daughter of August Carl Papke and Ernestine Walck). Ruth was born in Pendleton, New York. August was the son of German emigrants, Karl August Lebrecht Papke, who was from Uchtdorf, Greifenhagen, Pommern; and Caroline Albertine Wilhelmine Herrmann, who was from Tilsit, East Prussia.
