George Scott was an American professional baseball player. A first baseman, he played for the Boston Red Sox, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Kansas City Royals, and the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He had eight Gold Gloves at first base, making him one of the best defensively at his position in MLB history. He was nicknamed “Boomer.”
George was the son of Magnolia and George Charles Scott, a cotton farm laborer. He had three children. His grandson, Deion Williams, is also a baseball player.
