Fred Again is a British record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ. He has co-written several radio hits. His dance music projects earned him two Grammy Awards in 2024. He is also known as Fred, FRED, Fred again.., and Fred Gibson.

His father is a barrister.

Fred’s paternal grandfather was named Phillip G. Gibson. Phillip descended from Huntingdonshire gentry.

Fred’s maternal grandfather was named Sir John Albert Leigh Morgan (the son of John Edward Rowland/Roland Morgan). Fred’s grandfather John was born in Hackney, London, and was a diplomat, who served as British Ambassador to South Korea, from 1980 to 1983, British Ambassador to Poland, from 1983 to 1986, and British Ambassador to Mexico, from 1986 to 1989.

Fred’s maternal grandmother was Fionn Frances Bride O’Neill (the daughter of Shane Edward Robert O’Neill, 3rd Baron O’Neill, and of Ann Fleming, born Anne Geraldine Mary Charteris). Fionn was born in Antrim, Northern Ireland. Fred’s great-grandfather Baron O’Neill was a British Army officer, who was killed in action in WWII, in Italy. He was the son of The Hon. Arthur O’Neill, a politician, who was the first Member of Parliament to be killed in WWI, in Klein Zillebeke, Belgium; and of Lady Annabel Hungerford Crewe-Milnes, who was the eldest daughter of Robert Crewe-Milnes, 1st Marquess of Crewe. Baron O’Neill’s brother, Fred’s great-great-uncle, Terence O’Neill, was Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, from 25 March, 1963 to 28 April, 1969, and Leader of the Ulster Unionist Party, from 25 March, 1963 to 1 May, 1969, among other duties. Fred’s great-grandfather Baron O’Neill was of mostly English and Scottish/Northern Irish, with some Irish and distant Portuguese Sephardi Jewish, ancestry. Members of his English and Scottish families were born in the Caribbean, modern day Antigua & Barbuda, Saint Kitts & Nevis, and Suriname. Among his Sephardi ancestors was Fernando Joseph da Costa/Joseph Curiel, a merchant in London, whose own father, Alvaro Jacob da Costa, was a founder of the city’s Anglo-Sephardi community.

Fred’s great-grandmother Ann Fleming was the daughter of Captain Guy Lawrence Charteris and Frances Lucy Tennant, and the granddaughter of Hugo Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss, and society hostess Mary Constance Wyndham, a member of The Souls. Ann was married to Ian Fleming, the writer and creator of James Bond, until his death. She was of English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Cornish, and distant German, Dutch, and French-Canadian, descent. One of her ancestors was born on Barbados.
