Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress and author. She starred on the series Lost and plays Hope van Dyne / Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the films Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Endgame, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and the theme park attractions Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! and Avengers: Quantum Encounter. Her roles also include the films The Long Weekend (2005), The Hurt Locker, Afterwards, Real Steel, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Little Evil, Crisis (2021), Legend of Destruction, and South of Heaven; the show Smallville; and the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

William was the son of Robert Hobbs, of London; and of Harriet Haxforth, of Yorkshire. Evangeline’s great-grandmother Sarah was the daughter of Charles Frederick Armstrong, whose father was born in Swedish; and of Mary Louisa Martin. They were from Northumberland.

Charles Frederick Armstrong father, Frederick Armstrong, was born in Sweden, but I don’t think he was Swedish. On a Census record, his birth place if transcripted as “Carlma Sweden British Sub”, and his job was mariner/boatman.
