Alfred was the son of German emigrants, Henry Fredrick Behrens and Anna Martha Schwicker, who was from Prussia. Henry was born in New York, the son of George Todd Frost and Helena White, and had deep roots in the U.S. Emme’s great-grandmother Jetta was born in New York, the daughter of Orlando Hayes Hartwig, whose father was German; and of Grace Mary Warren, whose father was English.

Emme’s maternal grandfather was George Lewis Good (the son of Robert Price Good and Fannie Hershberger Werking). George was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and was mostly of Pennsylvania Dutch (German) descent. Robert was the son of John Albert Good and Mary Jane Brumbaugh. Fannie was the daughter of Gilbert L. Werking and Lydia Steele Hershberger.

Emme’s maternal grandmother was Clara May Peterson (the daughter of Taliessen Henry Peterson, Jr. and Clara Engster). Emme’s grandmother Clara was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Taliessen was the son of Taliessen Henry Peterson, who had deep lines in the U.S.; and of Eva Lavina Sleep, who was the daughter of Cornish emigrants, from St. Blazey. Emme’s great-grandmother Clara was the daughter of John Henry Engster and Maria Scherer, who were either German or Swiss-German.

    Christine is not Emme’s mother, is her step-mother. Her mother is Nancy Lynn Good.
