Eion Bailey is an American actor. His roles include the series Significant Others, Band of Brothers, ER, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Dirty Little Secret, Covert Affairs, Once Upon a Time, Ray Donovan, Stalker, The Last Tycoon, The Stand, and From; the films A Better Place, Fight Club, The Young Unknowns, Center Stage, Almost Famous, The Scoundrel’s Wife, Seven and a Match, Mindhunters (2004), Sexual Life, Life of the Party (2005), The Canyon, (Untitled) (2009), and Extortion (2017); and the made-for-tv movies And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself, Who Killed JonBenet, Switched for Christmas, and Deliver by Christmas.
He is married to Canadian film and theatre director Weyni Mengesha, with whom he has two children. Weyni is of Ethiopian descent.
Eion’s paternal grandfather was Maj. Francis Lee Bailey (the son of Frank Ivan Bailey and Myrtle Ann Hartson). Francis was born in DeTour Township, Michigan, and had deep American roots. Frank was the son of George Warren Bailey and Cornelia Edgerton. Myrtle was the daughter of William Tapert Hartson and Ida Mae Robbins, whose mother was German.
Eion’s paternal grandmother was Jane Margaret Lee (the daughter of George Erasmus Lee and Alice Mabel Hughes). Jane was born in Detroit, Michigan, and had mostly deep lines in the U.S. George was the son of James Alexander Lee and Margaret Elizabeth Shirea, whose paternal grandparents were Luxembourgish, and whose maternal grandparents were German. Eion’s great-grandmother Alice was the daughter of Daniel L. Hughes and Margaret Mae Tedrick.
Eion’s maternal grandfather was Robert Morrill Hamilton (the son of Robert Gilbert Hamilton and Clementine Elaine Morrill). Eion’s grandfather Robert was born in Queens, New York City, New York, and had partly deep roots in Canada and the U.S. Eion’s great-grandfather Robert was the son of Robert Almy Hamilton and Hattie Maria Beecher. Eion’s great-grandmother Clementine was the daughter of Ernest John Morrill, whose mother was from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; and of Ellen Seward, whose parents were also from Ireland.
Eion’s maternal grandmother was Isabelle Ruth Crawford (the daughter of Arthur Archibald Crawford and Hazel Phelps Gore). Isabelle was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, and had partly deep roots in Canada and the U.S. Arthur was the son Daniel C. Crawford and Margaret Jane MacDonald, and was of at least mostly Scottish descent. Eion’s great-grandmother Hazel was the daughter of George Avery Gore and Anna Louise Cory, whose own mother was English.
