David Rysdahl is an American actor and screenwriter. His roles include the films That’s Not Us, The Revival, Dead Pigs, Nine Days, The Land of Owls, No Exit (2022), Oppenheimer (2023), and The Luckiest Man in America, and the shows Bull, The Family, Black Mirror: Mazey Day, Fargo, and Alien: Earth.

He was raised in New Ulm, Minnesota. He is married to actress Zazie Beetz. The two started production company Sleepy Poppy.

David’s paternal grandfather was George Delroy Rysdahl (the son of Lewis Rysdahl and Judith Gjertine Berg). George was born in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Lewis was born in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, the son of Norwegian parents, Anders Korneliussen Rysdahl and Anne Marie Larsdatter Eide, who were from Gloppen kommune, Sogn og Fjordane fylk. David’s great-grandmother Judith was born in Thor, Humboldt County, Iowa. Judith’s father, Carl Anton Berg, was born in Skanevik, Etne kommune, Hordaland fylke, Norway, to a Swedish father and a Norwegian mother. Judith’s mother, Caroline Dorothy Opheim/Ophiem, was the daughter of Norwegian parents.

David’s paternal grandmother was Marjorie Beulah/Bulah Knutson (the daughter of Arthur/Art Knutson and Stella Melissa Lindsay). Marjorie was born in Green Valley, Minnesota. Arthur was born in Minnesota, the son of Joseph Knutson and Olava Gilbertson/Gelberlson. Stella was born in Fairview Township, Lyon County, Minnesota.
