Cree Summer is an American and Canadian actress, comedian, and singer.
Her father, Don Francks (Donald Harvey Francks), was a Canadian actor and musician. He was adopted, and was white. Her mother, Lili Red Eagle (born Clark), a dancer, is American, and is an African-American, from North Richmond, California. She is an adopted member of the Plains Cree First Nations. Cree is the sister of actor, singer, and MuchMusic VJ Rainbow Sun Francks.
Cree was raised in British Columbia, Canada, and elsewhere. She has two children with her former husband, producer Angelo Pullen.
Cree’s biological paternal grandmother likely was Jennet Victoria “Jean” Beattie (the daughter of Wilfred Edward Beattie and Mary Minnie Jack). Jean was born in Canada. Wilfred was the son of Cpt. George William Beattie and Janet Isabella Darlington Duff. Mary was the daughter of James W. Jack, whose parents were Scottish; and of Catherine Ann Laronde.

This is Louisiana. Anyway, went to FamilySearch, and David Clark is, of course, listed as black as are his parents. Like, Lucy was at least partially Creole. David may have been, too. But both of them were African Americans. This is firmly in Acadian.
I’m confused as to why you’d have thought these would have been English and French people?

SInce her father was adopted, it would be hard to guess if he was English or not.
