Chris Pratt is an American actor. He plays Peter Quill / Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including in the films Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. His roles include the films Strangers with Candy, Wanted (2008), Bride Wars, Deep in the Valley, Jennifer’s Body, Take Me Home Tonight, Moneyball, What’s Your Number?, 10 Years (2011), The Five-Year Engagement, Zero Dark Thirty, Movie 43, Delivery Man, Her (2013), The Lego Movie, and its sequel, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part; Jurassic World, and its sequels, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion; The Magnificent Seven, Passengers (2016), The Kid (2019), Onward, The Tomorrow War, The Super Mario Bros. Chris is the son of Kathleen Louise, who worked at a supermaket, and Daniel C. Pratt, who was in mining and house remodeling. Chris’s father was of English, Norwegian, German, Swiss-German, and French-Canadian ancestry. Chris’s mother is of entirely Norwegian descent. From the age of seven, he was raised in Lake Stevens, Washington.

Chris is married to author Katherine Schwarzenegger. He has a son with his former wife, actress Anna Faris; and three children with Katherine. Chris’s wife Katherine is the daughter of actor and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver. Chris’s brother-in-law is actor and model Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Chris’s patrilineal line can be traced to Thomas Pratt, who was born, c. 1636, in Cambridgeshire, England.
