Amy’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Edward Ferguson (the son of Joseph Terence Ferguson and Clara Madeline Kost). Thomas was born in Lancaster, Ohio. Joseph was the son of Terrance Ferguson, whose parents were from Ireland; and of Amanda J. Palmer, whose maternal grandparents were Irish. Amy’s great-grandmother Clara was of German descent, the daughter of Francis Xavier Kost and Agnes Catherine Shonk.
Amy’s paternal grandmother was Helen Ruth Kreitzer (the daughter of Sylvester Ambrose Kreitzer and Eve Ruth Miller). Amy’s great-grandmother Eleanor was the daughter of Henry Louis Depweg, whose parents were German; and of Frances Anna Ahlers, whose grandparents were also German.
