Amy’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Edward Ferguson (the son of Joseph Terence Ferguson and Clara Madeline Kost). Thomas was born in Lancaster, Ohio. Joseph was the son of Terrance Ferguson, whose parents were from Ireland; and of Amanda J. Palmer, whose maternal grandparents were Irish. Amy’s great-grandmother Clara was of German descent, the daughter of Francis Xavier Kost and Agnes Catherine Shonk.

Amy’s paternal grandmother was Helen Ruth Kreitzer (the daughter of Sylvester Ambrose Kreitzer and Eve Ruth Miller). Helen was born in Dayton, Ohio, and had partly deep roots in the U.S., mostly of German origin. Sylvester was the son of Joseph A. Kreitzer and Catherine Erbaugh. Eve was the daughter of Isaac McDuff Miller and Amanda Baker, whose own parents were German emigrants, from Darmstadt, Hessen.

Amy’s maternal grandfather was John Patrick Hart (the son of Frank Albert Hart and Clara Mary Hoening). John was born in Ohio. Frank was the son of John H. Hart, whose parents were Irish; and of Francisca Sonderman, whose parents were German. Clara was the daughter of Adam J. Hoening and Anna Mary Elizabeth Lamm, who were born in Ohio, both of them to German parents/grandparents.

Amy’s maternal grandmother was Marilyn Jean Klingshirn (the daughter of Sebastian Isadore Klingshirn and Eleanor Rose Depweg). Marilyn was born in Dayton, Ohio. Sebastian was the son of Joseph Klingshirn and Mary Beisick, who were born in Ohio, both of them to German parents. Amy’s great-grandmother Eleanor was the daughter of Henry Louis Depweg, whose parents were German; and of Frances Anna Ahlers, whose grandparents were also German.
