Priming
Okay here's an example of a psychological phenomenon called priming. You are much easier to manipulate than you may think you are.
How do you pronounce the word that is spelled S. H. O. P.
Say it out loud now before you continue.
Now, what do you do at a green light? Answer right away please.
Say your answer out loud.
Wrong!
Now think about the question.
That is priming but you have answer right away. You get it wrong because of your brain's natural tendency to find patterns in things immediately and use them as shortcuts to critical thinking.
