hey, you.

Friending is: open. Please comment before adding though.

Please note that: I don't do friends cut. I similarly do not ask for any need to constantly comment, just say something when you are interested and genuinely want to talk. I honestly believe in the quality of a friendship, not necessarily the quantity. Therefore, for this journal: comment or don't as you please; you are not bound, you don't have to prove anything to me.

ephemeralize

coined by R. Buckminster Fuller. Refers to the ability of technological advancements "to do more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing." Fuller’s vision was that ephemeralization will result in ever-increasing standards of living for an ever-growing population despite finite resources.

i think hollywood should just give up and give us a movie combining all the superheroes ever into one movie fighting a big black hole ten thousand lightyears away, and they do it by making the super evil, can't be tamed by words or reasoning black hole eat some explosive thing and then explode in a shower of a ten minute long explosion. in 3-D. add some transformers in there too. and astroboy. and captain kirk. it might be 10 hours long, but at least for the next decade we won't have to see another hero franchise and appropriately make way for the new dynasty of fairytale movies.

Wikipedia Blackout: Urge Wikipedia To Protest Censorship
Quick request: Wikipedia is considering going dark to protest SOPA and PIPA, the Internet censorship bills.

It'd be huge news, jar rank-and-file Internet users out of complacency, and serve as a turning point in the effort to beat these bills.

Several sites are considering going dark next week -- Reddit's already pledged to do so, but to have the impact it'll take to kill SOPA and PIPA, we need much broader support. A blackout by Wikipedia could be what finally kills these bills.

Will sign you on at right to urge Wikipedia to go on strike to protest censorship? (You'll also generate an email to your lawmakers, with the language at right.)
PETITION TO WIKIPEDIA: We encourage Wikipedia to "go dark" to proest the Internet censorship bills pending before Congress. Millions of Americans would take notice, and it could be what finally turns the corner in the fight against SOPA and PIPA.
Please sign at right to urge Wikipedia to go dark, and to generate an anti-SOPA/PIPA letter to your lawmakers.

i've been sick for the past week! i don't want to disclose how much tv i've watched during that time, but it is... a lot. i don't know what kind of power-flu it was this time around because for me, i will get sick once a year, and only for a day, two max. this thing wiped me off of my feet for a full 8 days (i'm still sniffly). BUT I AM OK. )o) I THINK. )o)

on jealousy

anyways! i was reading through tumblr, and there are some very jealous people there. and their patterns are very alike! they sit on some nice artists blogs and anonymously say things like "i wish....i had your talent...i will never be as talented...tell me your secrets...i'd do anything to do what you do..."

and i'm thinking, that, well, these art people-- being tumblr famous or whatever bnf is more than just a fandom pursuit, because many many many of the people who are 'famous' or whatnot have essentially dedicated their lives to the craft. they've went to uni majoring in it, they eat/breathe/sleep it, and really, depend on it to survive. they depend on their ability to have their art or writing or whatnot be captivating in a way.

so if you like someone's work, please wish them sucess instead of scorning them! i don't think there's an occupation that relies so heavily on them actually being popular on a mass scale, which makes their career v. fickle. wish them all the best, it's a hardknock life out there. OAO;;

spoilers for the whole gameCollapse )

For those not in the know, Ghost Trick is a puzzle game about ghosts (already, I am utterly biased because I just love ghosts and ghost stories) that is produced by Capcom and directed by Shu Tamaki-- who also directed the Ace Attorney/Phoenix Wright games. You're already granted a good storyline, but for those of you who've played Ace Attorney, know this-- this is absolutely God Tier story telling. This game is a tight, well-oiled machine of plot-driving. You play as Sissel, who recently just died and has absolutely no clue who he is or how he died. He's given only one night of being a ghost with the power to manipulate objects to find out about himself and his death before ascending to the next plane. And with that, the story just flies so gracefully-- you're always at the edge of your seat and there's so many brilliant twists and turns to this game along with the playful humor you'd find in the AA games. Do you like Rube Goldberg machines? The game is for the most part playing around with a lot of that, manipulating the real world into doing exactly what you want in order to get your desired outcome. The animation is beautiful and really and subtly tells you a lot about each character through their movements. But seriously-- come for the story, stay for the story.
