Young Professionals Council

Bringing young professionals and students together to share resources, network, and build a stronger floriculture industry.

Welcome to the Young Professionals Council!

Established in 2015 and celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, the Young Professionals Council (YPC) offers leadership and networking opportunities for young industry professionals while getting involved in volunteer opportunities within the floral/horticultural industries. YPC members participate in online and in-person meetings, webinars, and other networking opportunities to share ideas, collaborate with influential industry members, and help promote careers in the floral industry.

The YPC promotes personal growth through interaction with other young professionals with similar interests and career goals and encourages attendance at special YPC events online and in-person during industry conferences.  It’s a great (free!) way to build your own network. Members of YPC get special consideration each year for attending workshops or events, along with networking dinners during larger industry conferences.

New for 2026! Young Professionals Council (YPC): Professional Development & Leadership Webinar Series

With the generous support of the Demaree Family Floriculture Advancement Fund, we are excited to launch a new webinar series in 2026 created specifically for you as young professionals. This series was developed with direct input from YPC members and is designed to bring together experts from across academia and the floral industry to share insights that matter most to early-career professionals.

Each session will be offered live and recorded, so you can join in real time or access the content later as part of an on-demand resource library — making it easy to learn, connect, and continue developing your career at your own pace.
