Mohamed Shouki, the president of the National Rally of Independents party, affirmed that Moroccan women hold a pivotal position in implementing major social and developmental reforms, as they are a fundamental actor in building a Morocco of progress and dignity. This was stated in a strong intervention during the fourth edition of the women's summit of the Gathering, organized in Marrakech within the "Path of the Future".
Shouki began his speech at the event, which was attended by over 1200 women from the National Rally of Independents, praising the large attendance and the spirit of mobilization that reflects a strong female dynamic within the party. He emphasized that this organizational momentum embodies the advanced position that women have come to occupy in the political project of the National Rally of Independents. The party president chose to frame his intervention by evoking diverse Moroccan female models, reflecting the richness and diversity of the paths of Moroccan women, from a rural elected official involved in local affairs, to an Olympic champion and an international leader, to a university professor and an intellectual activist, reaching female models from the depths of Moroccan society, embodying the values of dignity, resilience and daily work, explaining that these models are not just individual cases, but are a sincere expression of the reality of Moroccan women and their ability to effectively contribute to development, and about the multiple roles they play within the family and society. Shouki stressed that his personal and professional path was greatly influenced by Moroccan women who left a clear mark on his formation, headed by influential names that affected his life such as Ghizlane Chawdani, Nawal El Moutawakel, Laila Bousserya and Aisha Doussi in addition to Fatima El Ghiati, whether through upbringing on the values of "Tamaghrabit" or through commitment to serving the homeland, stressing that this value stock reinforces his conviction of the need to continue defending women's issues and placing them at the heart of public policies. In the context of his talk about ongoing reforms, he highlighted that the National Rally of Independents party was at the forefront of the parties that interacted with the high royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, especially with regard to the family code review workshop, where the party presented practical proposals stemming from extensive field consultations that included various regions of the Kingdom, in order to ensure strengthening the balance of the Moroccan family and consolidating the rights of women and children. The party president also reviewed the government's record led by Aziz Akhannouch, noting that a number of structural reforms had a direct impact on improving the situation of women, including the generalization of compulsory health insurance, which enabled millions of Moroccans to access treatment within a framework of equality and dignity, in addition to social support programs that benefited hundreds of thousands of widows, which enhances the social protection of this category. He also pointed out in the same context to the government programs aimed at the economic empowerment of women, especially in the rural areas, highlighting the role of initiatives aimed at supporting individual projects in enabling women to achieve economic independence and effective engagement in the economic cycle. Shouki considered that what has been achieved for the benefit of Moroccan women translates a clear political commitment to placing them at the heart of the social state, stressing that the party adopts "integration democracy" in addition to "achievement democracy", which is reflected in the strong presence of women of the Gathering in positions of responsibility, whether within elected institutions or within the party structures and the government. In conclusion of his speech, the president of the National Rally of Independents party stressed that Moroccan women will remain at the heart of the "Path of the Future", as they are an essential partner in achieving comprehensive development, and a main component in building a balanced and cohesive society, stressing that the female models that were evoked during this summit embody the ambition of a Morocco that bets on its female competencies and places them at the heart of the development project, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
