Welcome to the Empire State Campaign for Child Care
We are a statewide coalition of parents, child care educators, and advocates who believe that every family in New York State deserves high-quality, universal child care and that every child care educator deserves to earn a thriving wage.
Child care providers are the backbone of our communities—and yet, many still earn poverty-level wages. It’s time to change that.
Last month, Governor Hochul and Mayor Mamdani made a historic commitment to funding child care across the state – including funding expansions to the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), launching universal community pilot programs in three NYS counties, and expanding universal pre-K access to all 4-year-olds by the 2028-29 school year.
