
Executive Chef Sean Gafner grew up on a farm and cattle ranch, developing an appreciation for fresh produce and a respect for sustainable livestock from a young age. After graduating from Golden State Culinary Institute in 2000, he cut his teeth in some of Northern California’s best restaurants before moving to Longmont, Colorado with his wife Rebecca and their four children in 2015 to open their first restaurant. Ember is the fifth restaurant of Gafner Hospitality Group, and the first for the Gafner’s in Estes Park.

Since 2015 our goal has been to be a great company to work for. Our plan is to address every negative stigma about restaurant work until people in our industry understand the real value in the work we do. We believe that inviting people into a comfortable environment, feeding them, hosting them as they celebrate life’s greatest moments, as well as gathering through life’s most difficult moments, is an important and honorable way to spend a life.
