What is Interplay?
Interplay was developed to bridge the gap between design and code by creating a single source of truth for product teams. It aimed to connect and automate design and code workflows, helping teams work more efficiently and maintain consistency across their design systems. The platform focused on eliminating friction between designers and developers to align entire product teams.
Despite its mission, Interplay has been discontinued, with service shutdown completed by September 30, 2025. Users were able to access, view, and edit design systems, documentation, and components until the admin panel shutdown, after which only viewing and exporting published documentation was possible. Paid users could request data exports, and all active subscriptions were cancelled with no further charges.
