{Color layers, Hue/Sat, Curves}
01. I used this screencap from dj_capslock by 02. Create a new layer and fill it with a pink (#FF9F9F) and set the blend mode to Soft Light at 100%. 03. Create a new layer and fill it with a blue (#7FD5E1). Set the layer to Color Burn at 100%. You can play with the color by using Hue/Saturation to your liking. WHERE ARE THE NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYERS? - Screenshot 04. Now the color is looking a little dull, so create a new adjustment layer - Hue/Saturation. Increase the Saturation to +30. Leave the other settings alone. 05. Finally, I wanted some more depth, so create a new adjustment layer - Curves. I left the green and blue settings alone. My settings: RGB RED. RGB - Point one (I: 181, O: 193); Point two (I: 42, O: 32) RED - Point one (I: 185, O: 199); Point two (I:61, O: 39) MY FINAL LAYER PALETTE: If you have any questions, feel free to ask & I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. I would love to see your results! ♥ |

{Curves, Hue/Sat, Selective Coloring}
01. I used this screencap from Striped Wall. Crop and resize your base to 100x100. Create a new adjustment layer - Curves. My settings: RGB RGB - Point one (I: 205, O: 228) 02. Duplicate your base and drag it to the top. Sharpen once (if necessary) and set the blend mode to Screen at 100%. (Opacity will vary depending on base). WHERE ARE THE NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYERS? - Screenshot 03. The base looks much brighter and nicer, but I wanted the color to be more intense. So, created a new adjustment layer - Hue/Saturation. Increase the saturation to whatever you'd like it to be; I set mine to +35. **I am telling you now: Please don't increase the saturation to the point where it resembles a RADIOACTIVE fruit. -- This is bad. Be subtle and you'll see how nice it can turn out.** 04. The color and crispness looks a lot better. This next isn't really required, but I think it adds more depth and it brings the icon together. Create a new adjustment layer - Selective Coloring. Here are my settings: RED, CYAN, WHITE. MY FINAL LAYER PALETTE: If you have any questions, feel free to ask & I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. I would love to see your results! ♥ |
