bits and bobs

I checked my mortgage amount earlier - it's made entirely of 6s. I don't know if I'm comfortable with that! I almost chucked a few extra quid in, just to disrupt it.

We've had a serious Autumn-clean this weekend, since getting back from holiday on Friday. Mainly because I've seen a few woolly bears around (meaning the horrible little carpet-bug larvae, not actualy bears). And partly because we just need to massively cut down on all th shit we own! Living in a tiny flat certainly crystallises that need :)

As part of this we've decided we should get a new fnug (duvet). Or two. Ideally I'd go for one of those all-season ones you can attach, but I want a REALLY light one for the summer, and the summer ones always seem to be 4.5ish tog on those. I was wanting a 2.5, probably.

Our flat is very warm. We've lived here for over 2 years now, and in that time we've never had all the windows closed (even though they have trickle-vents on them), we haven't shut out balcony door for the last...6 months? probably...and we've had the heating on in one room, once, for 30 mins. Sometimes, new build is okay ;) But it does mean you don't need a big fnug!

Anyway, we had a great holiday up in Yorkshire, went on a steam train, went to the Railway museum (we're not actually train spotters!), went to the aquarium and saw some saw-fish, which are kind of terrifying. And other cool fish. And generally chilled out and had a nice time in our wee lodge, with our hot tub :)

Also, despite being ignored for a few weeks, between some heavy rainfall and then us going away, my tomatoes should really be unhappy. But nope, they've just begun to go wild, despite doing almost nothing all summer! They've grown huge and got loads of flowers in the past week. Odd things.
