Yaaaaaaaaaaaay
Soo.....my friend, who I professional mentor...professionally mentor? Mentor in a professional capacity....anyway, her, she applied for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship last year, and with ONE DAY to go, asked me to write her a reference, which had to fit REALLY specific criteria.
but I brought out my biggest, best, writing guns...and wrote her what i think was a STORMING reference. And she got an interview...
We discussed interviewing, I met her on the day of it, we talked about positivity and presentations and loads of stuff.
She interviewed at lunchtime on a Friday. At her interview they told her she wouldn't find out if she had been successful or not because they had another TWELVE DAYS of interviews to do...bear in mind you only got an interview if you made the shortlist...and each interview is only 15mins long!!
YESTERDAY SHE WAS TOLD SHE HAD GOT THE FELLOWSHIP. They will now pay for her to go to America for three months, to study the Terracotta industry and compare it to the UK one (which doesn't exist, really) She will write a book, and complete her Masters doing this project.
