dampness
I washed Alfie this morning. He hates me now, but the sink was kinda full of grime afterward. I used a j cloth, a toothbrush and some gentle handwash stuff. I've hair dried him gently, squeezed him up in towels and now he's on a towel on the radiator, being slowly rotated! He was very very unhappy when he was wet, looking at me with proper mournful eyes! But he is a good bit less grimy, although obviously not as clean as if he'd been in the washer - but I was worried about getting his stuffing too wet.
Anyways, have some pics of Friday.

Those are the top three middle panels for the tree...we're slowly getting there!!

And then I started work on the root. Hammer and chisel all the way, dudes...so I got that entire face nice and flat ready to be machined. Root is way harder than normal wood - like rock. O it took a while. But I miss wood carving and it was rather therapeutic!
My train, it seems, is always either late, or has drama. Or both.
Thursday, as we're between East Croydon (1st stop) and Three Bridges (2nd stop) the tannoy goes:
"Conductor, contact the driver please."
Minute passes.
"Conductor, contact the driver please, passenger alarm has been pulled."
More silence...
"Can the CONDUCTOR please contact the DRIVER."
Another Minute.
"Could. The. Conductor. Contact. The. Driver."
pause...
"If there is ANYONE on this train who has a carriage key could they go to the toilet in the middle four coaches and reset the alarm?"
So, basically, as there is always a conductor, and we later saw him, I am assuming the conductor got himself locked in the toilet.
Then last night, same stretch of track... "This is the conductor speaking, if there are any members of the police force on the train could they please make their way to carriage 12"
Which caused us to be about 11 mins late...Oh, the joys.
