peterman
(if anyone doesn't know, a peterman is someone who cracks safes)
Today I was faced with 14 locked doors. And one spare lock. And one key which fitted this spare lock.
By the time I came home I had one spare lock and 14 locks which now all open with the one key.
Who's yer daddy? I picked all the locks, removed them, took them apart, rejigged them to open with my one key, rebuilt them and replaced them. And it only took me an hour or so. Obviously, did it on firm time ;) But some of it was for the good of the firm as it was for our consumables.
The TIG plant died today - luckily Marky could come over this afternoon and cleaned all the carbon off the HF plates - but they need replacing. I don't want the welder to turn to crap right now as I'm on my own next week.
I bought the scratch plant in anyway today, and used that and the arc plant. It's nowhere near as good as the HF start plant though. SiBorg did mention getting a new plant again today though...but he keeps looking at the shitty old DC portables, and we need an AC/DC plant with HF etc. It's such a false economy to get anything else.
I got some catching up to do tomorrow/next week, cos I've been a bit slack this week.
Reading back over this post, it probably looks like it's written in code to anyone who doesn't live in my world...um, if you wanna know anything, ask ;)
I must pull my finger out and write my freakin' speech soon too. 15 minutes of standing in front of 100s of people and talking about how I got to where I am today, with regard to my career. jeeeeeeeeez. I don't know what to say!
