LOM, work, the usual :)
Well today wasn't quite as nice as yesterday, weather-wise - which in some ways is good, cos I was in my Breathing Apparatus for most of today (I was in it for 9 hours yesterday, when it was a beautiful day, and that irritates me! Plus had to get home and white-tornado the flat last night as we had an inspection today, so there was no sun for Elf yesterday)
Erm..anyway, I digress...yes, job going well, although now complete jobs are stacking up around the yard badly - we really must go and fit something soon.
Yesterday I scared myself with the polisher - I had it going at full chat (6000 revs per minute) and I caught one of the nails that holds the sisal (the mop on the polisher) together on the end of the tube.
I don't know if you can imagine the torque that a two-foot-long heavy polisher puts out normally, but it's a lot worse when you catch it on something. The nail ripped a gouge into the stainless, then broke free - the sisel was by now attempting to rip itself to bits under the centrifugal force, and the polisher got me straight in the face - lucky it wasn't an emery cloth flap wheel. All it did was make a big ugly mark across my face-shield of my BA, so I had to go and get a new one. And I held onto it, cos if you drop them at that speed the polishers usually rip their powercables out of their guts, which takes time to fix.
I've been more careful today ;) Just holding a polisher for so many hours is totally knackering - my arms and shoulders hurt, my joints in my hands and arms all ache. And the boss refuses point blank to buy any anti-vibration gloves. (the polisher vibrates so hard it actually makes the two fingers I broke ages ago hurt again!)
And I stopped off at the italian cafe on the beach on the way home.
And then I bought myself a bottle of Amaretto tonight - God, I love that stuff. brings back memories of my childhood. I could easily drink half a bottle of that every night. (but restrained meself admirably).
LOM was fab - can't believe there's only one more to go. And although there was no trailer after ep7 on BBC1, there was after Ep6 on BBC4, so I know what a torturous week it'll be waiting...
ZOMG, the scene with Ray, Chris and Sam in the pub - you go Ray, you the man. ::cheerleads:: tell it to Sam like it is.
