work, meme, etc.
Firstly, desktop meme. My new (since the great hard drive death of '06) minimalistic, desktop.

And secondly...oh yeah, first week back at work and it's just a gentle slip-slide into the swing of things, right?
WRONG. Out on freezing building site all day today, worked until 8pm tonight, have to start work at 0545 tomorrow morning, working in London all day, then same on Thursday morning, then have to start at 6 on Friday morning to work up in Chailey for the day, which will be a long hard slog of a job.
And you just KNOW that the London job will be good when your boss says 'Oh, by the way, when you get there they may not be very happy, as the job was ordered in July...and we didn't want to do it, so we've been putting it off and off and off...and now it's January and we haven't even ordered the stuff yet.'
What we're going to do is, and I kid you not, draw around a stair. You know how when you're a kid you draw around your hand? Well we have to do that to an entire building...we have to clad it all in board and then draw around the entire staircase. Only then can we send the bits away so we can have the laser-cut steel made.
Have I mentioned that I love my job yet this year? ;)
